Chennai Traffic Police has put in place some restrictions at Vadapalani Junction to ease traffic congestion.

Vehicles approaching Porur or Koyambedu from Kodambakkam – Arcot road have to turn left at the junction and U turn (65 metres ahead) under the metro rail bridge and proceed straight or take left at Vadapalani Junction.

Vehicles coming from Ashoka pillar towards Kodambakkam via the service road can take a right at the junction.

Vehicles going towards Valasaravakkam from Vadapalani Forum Vijaya Mall have to take a left at the mall towards Vadapalani Junction, take a right and U turn under the Metro Rail Bridge and then a left at Vadapalani Junction to go towards Valasaravakkam.

Commuters to Kodambakkam, Ashok Nagar and Koyambedu from Virugambakkam can take a left, go straight or take a right at the junction.

Commuters heading towards Ashok Pillar at 100 feet road from Nerkundram Pathai Service Road have to take a left at Vadapalani Junction towards Kodambakkam and Duraisamy Samy Salai and those headed towards Vadapalani Forum Vijaya Mall, SIMS Hospital, Nerkundram Pathai and Koyambedu can take U-turn under the metro rail bridge.
