This landmark theatre of Chennai is getting a makeover

Kasi theatre, one of the oldest theatres of our movie-crazy city, is all set to re-open soon after renovation. The theatre which is located in Ashok Nagar is currently undergoing a big make-over! The last movie which played in Kasi theatre was Suriya’s Si3. The theatre that always gets one of the first ever shows in Chennai for the big films is now under renovation.

“Our theatre is now under renovation and we are planning to change the entire architecture of the seating. This will reduce the number of seats but the audiences will have a better viewing experience. We are planning for plush interiors and comfortable push back seats with a new canteen too. Apart from this, we are going to implement 4K Barco projector and the screens will also be changed. It will take us 1 month to remove the existing seats itself. We are planning for a grand launch of our Kasi theatre for Thala Ajith’s Vivegam in August. Till then it will be under work. Ticket prices will have a slight hike to 100 and 120 rupees.” , Says the manager of Kasi theatre.

Well, we can’t wait for the FDFS madness of Vivegam to be played out here!
