Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) opened a food plaza at Thiruvanmiyur MRTS station, on Friday. The food plaza has five shops where commuters can grab some quick snacks or coffee while they wait for the train.
The plaza has a coffee shop, a stall for packaged food and a bakery. A restaurant is also expected to be open in a few days.
The food plaza, spanning over 835 sqft., is located on platform no. 2 which is the boarding point for trains heading to beach station. Thiruvanmiyur is one of the busiest stations in Beach-Velachery line.
“Food plazas are expected to open in 10 MRTS stations in a month”, Times of India reported.
