The sealed stands in M.A.Chidambaram stadium could be reopened

The sealed stands in M.A.Chidambaram stadium could be re-opened for the India-Australia one day match on September 17. The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) is holding talks with the government of Tamil Nadu to make this happen and The Hindu has reported that the discussions are proceeding in the positive direction.

The I,J and K stands in MAC stadium can house up to 12,000 people and TNCA is ready to accept the clearance even if it is for one match.

The Australian cricket team will arrive in Chennai on September 8th and is scheduled to play a practice match before the first ODI on September 17th. The re-opening, if it happens, will bring cheers from the cricket fans in the city.
