Chennai Metro, in their latest attempt to ensure last mile connectivity to its users, launched shared car and auto services at some of its stations on Friday.
Drivers of these autos and cabs will provide commuter with tickets — specially issued by the Metro for these services — at the start of the journey. The service provides connectivity within a 3 km radius around chosen metro stations. The service comes at a nominal rate of Rs.10 and Rs.15 for shared auto and cars respectively.
Share autos are stationed at eight stations and cars at five stations. There will be two of each at the stations, and available between 6.30 a.m. and 9.30 p.m.
