The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K Palaniswami, inaugurated the second phase of the Outer Ring Road that connects Vandalur and Nemillicheri. The inauguration was done via videoconferencing from the secretariat. The project was built at a cost of Rs. 1025 crore.
The six lane road stretches up to 30 kms and connects Vandalur to Nemillicheri via Minjur. This project will do good by cutting down the travel time by about an hour. The second phase project was initiated in 2014 that started with connecting routes in Poonamallee, Avadi and Ponneri.
While the toll infra is all ready, the government is yet to notify the users on the toll fee for this route. The Chief Minister also took this occasion to distribute appointment orders to 94 typists who were recruited through TNPSC in 2018-19 and 2019-20.
