Three buses through Kolathur, that has been stopped for over a month due to poor road conditions, have been resumed by MTC. The buses are S43 (Villivakkam to Pudur), S57 (Korattur to Perambur) and 114A (Ayanavaram to Red Hills).
The services were resumed after a grievance petition was sent to MTC and Chief Minister’s cell by the local residents’ welfare association, Senthil Nagar Youth and Residents Welfare Association. The issue got escalated when Times of India published a report on this earlier this month.
While admitting not giving the residents any notice about stopping the services, an MTC official told TOI that the 3 services took a diversion from November 8th to December 3rd avoiding areas like Senthil Nagar, Vinayagapuram and Teachers Colony due to the bad roads. The services were resumed after the brabch manager spoke to Chennai Corporation officials to improve the road condition.
