The Khatri veyyil period had started on a cooler note with light intermittent rains, but weather bloggers in Chennai are forecasting hot days ahead for the city. With agni nakshathiram, the temperature is predicted to rise as high as 40°C. The sky condition is likely to remain partly cloudy.
The weather conditions looked promising for the city last week with rain in the forecast, however this has now faded and hot and humid conditions are expected to return from next week. The second half of agni nakshathiram is predicted to show its true colors, aided by the westerly winds.
The city will now have to wait for Southwest Monsoons to bring the much needed showers.
