Chennai seems to be set to get a breather today as rain-gods have finally decided to show some mercy on the city. All weather bloggers are unanimously predicting light showers across Chennai today. The sky has been mostly cloudy yesterday evening and the predicted drizzles will bring Chennaites the much needed respite from the scorching summer.

The city has reported record temperature in decades this year and has been sweltering in heat for the past few weeks. There were heat warning alerts issued on a few days and the soaring humidity added to people’s misery.

However, this pre-monsoon showers may not last long, but at this point, we would take whatever that comes our way!
