Around 5000 Special buses to be operated across the state during Deepavali Season

State government is planning to operate special buses on long distance routes in the state during Deepavali season from October 15 to 17. Around 5,000 special buses are proposed to be operated by various state transport corporations.

The long distance buses are reported to be operated from CMBT in Koyambedu, Poonamallee, Tambaram Sanatorium, and Anna Nagar west bus terminals.

On regular days, 2,275 buses are operated on long distance routes and 4,820 special buses would be added to address the raise in commuter count during Deepavali season.
