Chennai Airport metro station will soon be getting a 20 bed R&R(rest and relaxation) facility. Airport Authority of India is planning to set up this new facility as a replacement for the old restrooms that were demolished as part of phase II expansion of airport. Retiring rooms are mostly used by passengers arriving at the airport from other cities to board connection flights.
Responding to a letter from Pon Radhakrishnan, Civil Aviation Minister has stated that AAI will also provide a 50 twin-bed sharing hotel like accommodation as part of modernisation of Chennai Airport.
The project will be carried out on a fast track basis.
