Elliot’s beach to get more Wheelchair accessible ramps

Chennai’s Elliot beach will be getting two new ramps to provide wheelchair access to the walkway.  The beach currently has two ramps that are not in usable condition.

A group of disability right activists approached the Chennai Corporation authorities with a request to make the ramps usable. The officials sprung to action within a few days with a plan to construct more pathways in addition to fixing the existing ones to ensure the easy access to the pathway by wheelchair users.

The work on construction of new ramps is currently underway in Elliot’s beach.

Here’s to more such disabled-friendly initiatives!
