Apple, UIDAI and Nasdaq to recruit from IIT Madras this year

Apple Inc., Nasdaq stock market and UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) are the first time participants in the recruitment process at IIT-Madras. The placements for this year will start from December 1.

UBS AG, Alvarez and Marsal India Pvt Ltd, Country Garden, Halma India Pvt Ltd, Rubrik and Sekisui Chemical are other first-timers in the first phase of placement at IIT-M. The first phase of recruitment will start from December 1 and go on till 10th with a day break in between.

About 43% of the recruiters are from core engineering / R & D sector, 25% from finance / analytics / consulting sectors, and 32% from the IT sector. The Institute will host more than 50 startups this year.

This year has also seen a raise in the number of companies attending the recruitment process. 270 companies have registered so far for more than 400 job profiles.

The pre-placement offers that come from internships have also seen a 56% raise, with around 114 students receiving PPOs.

Microsoft, Samsung R and D, Goldman Sachs, Eaton, Schlumberger, Mahindra, Intel, Bajaj, EXL, Citi, Larsen and Toubro are among the traditional recruiters who will continue to attend the placement process this year as well.

Of the 270 companies attending the recruitment process, 19 have advertised international job profiles for positions mostly in countries such as Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and US.
